Waiting seasons are hard. They stretch us. They feel longer than we thought, quieter than we hoped. And sometimes they make you wonder: Does God even know what I am waiting for? Is He really working on my behalf?
The truth is yes. He does. He knows. He is.
You might be waiting for a door to open, a ministry opportunity, clarity about your next steps, answers to prayers, a breakthrough in school or work, a relationship you have been praying for, or a prodigal in your family to come home. Those are just some of the things people wait on. And while it feels like nothing is happening, God is already at work.
Some doors open right away. Some take time. Some we do not even see yet. But in the waiting, God is showing His character. He is faithful, patient, wise, and deeply loving. He is shaping your heart, aligning your priorities, and preparing you for what only He can provide. He is also preparing the people and situations you will encounter, the relationships that will strengthen you, and the doors for ministry that will challenge and grow you.
If God has done it before, He will do it again. Look back and count the times He has come through for you. Every answered prayer, every unexpected provision, every impossible situation He turned around are monuments of His faithfulness. Let them remind you that He is still working on your behalf today, even if it does not look like it yet.
As you step into this new year, remember this: waiting is not wasted. Waiting is often where God does His most important work. While you are praying for clarity, favor, or opportunities, He is shaping your faithfulness, your character, and your readiness to walk through the doors He has already prepared.
Do not measure God’s work by speed or visibility. Measure it by who He is and by what He is forming in you. Take heart. God is trustworthy, wise, and faithful. You have not missed your moment. You are not behind.
Stay faithful. Stay watchful. Keep trusting Him. The doors He opens, the relationships He orchestrates, and the ministry opportunities He brings are for His glory, and they will come in His time.
Questions for Reflection
• Where do I see God’s faithfulness in my life so far?
• What answered prayers or God moments can I look back on as reminders of His faithfulness?
• Which doors, ministry opportunities, or relationships is God inviting me to step into in this new year?
• Are there areas like school, career, family, or personal growth where I need to trust God is working behind the scenes?
• How can I prepare myself while I wait for what He has planned?
Prayer
God, thank You for showing me Your faithfulness over and over again. In this new year, help me trust that You are still working on my behalf even in this waiting season. Shape my heart, strengthen my faith, and prepare me for the doors, ministry opportunities, and relationships You are orchestrating. Give me discernment, courage, and patience to follow You wherever You lead. I trust You, and I surrender this season of waiting into Your hands.
Amen.
